NUMA’s Localization.

NUMA is formed by researchers from USP São Carlos, UFSCar, UNICAMP, UNIMEP and Aachen University, and its headquarter is located in the Engineering School of São Carlos. The geographic position of São Carlos, in the center of the state of São Paulo, allows a decentralization of the activities concentrated in the Capital, because 200 km from the capital there are many emergent groups which will be able to be supported by NUMA. The city is one of the poles of high technology in Brazil, covering several installed industries, from which more than 60 produce high technology items.

There are, today, in São Carlos, two Public Universities, two EMBRAPA units of research, and two Private Colleges, counting approximately 8 thousand students and 2500 researchers. That way, NUMA will be able to support the manufacturing enterprises that are installing themselves in the interior of the state of São Paulo and Minas Gerais.
